fuel pressure help 700 1988

I seem to have a semi occuring problem. Every once in a while after my car has sat (say over a weekend) my car starts fine but soon as it is put in drive or reverse, the car stalls. It then starts right up but runs poorly with no acceleration. When I come out later, it starts up and runs fine. Someone told me it is a fuel pressure problem. They said that once you drive it alittle, the pressure builds up in the system, hence the problem goes away. Does this make any sense? It is a 760 turbo. Is there a fuel check valve in this model? If so where? Or could it be the in tank fuel pump or main pump or both? Thank you everyone for the help. This website has been a great help since I joined.
