Asking for a neighbor. My thinking is if the wireing si shorted it should read a full tank, If the wire is broken it should read Empty. But he has this gauge that will move when tank is full but then tends to rest at 1/2 tank. he keeps filling the tank because he doesn't want to run out so we don't know if the gauge will all of a sudden drop below 1/2 and read correctly as we near the Empty mark. Why would his gauge be getting 6 volts to show 1/2 tank?
I haven't eyeballed the trunk and the connections yet. Just thought I'd toss it out at you guys and gals before heading to his house.
