1993 Volvo 960 Wagon, the story of the black smoke and no dealership visits has changed... I called the guy back and he now says WHITE smoke which would account for the radiator resivor being empty and now he says that he brought it to the dealership and they said two cylinders were bad... Now I am thinking: could this be a head gasket, or a cracked head? not a common problem, but hey I've seen weirder. Could it be that the dealership did a compression check and the crack was causing it to have poor compression? I have access to a 199x Volvo 960 Wagon in a Scrapyard, no knowlage of a good motor, but the chances of a bad head are pretty slim, probably had a more common problem, or mabey something unrelated to the engine (trans, rear diff etc.)
any suggestions/oppinions would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Tim
