Hi Everyone,
Im new to the board. Last fall I bought a 1990 240 DL from a buddy of mine. The car has run great ever since I bought it. However, on the way to work last week I was traveling around the beltway at around 70 mph and the check engine light came on and the car just stalled. I made it to the side of the road fine and sat there for a few minutes, turned the key and the car started up and ran fine but the check engine light is on. So, I had a friend check it out and was advised to replace the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, O2 sensor, & mass air. Which I did with all genuine Volvo parts. Well.....to make a long story short, nothing happened. The check engine light is still on and the car still runs crappy compared to the way it ran last week. The idle is very rough and the acceleration is much weaker than it was before. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have all the maintenance records from the previous owner. The car has 182K miles and the timing belt was replaced at 165K. I was also told it may be the fuel pump. Thanks in advance for any help anyone has to offer. And sorry about the short story here, just wanted to give a little background.
