Black flecks out of a/c vents..help! 900

Can anyone tell me what the black flecks are that I have coming out of my a/c vents on my 92 940?
Looks like it might be very small pieces of some sort of foam lining of the vents.
The A/C is working fine otherwise.
Can you tell me how to stop it? Does it need to run it course??
Can I open the vents and clean them.....how?
When it started it was really coming out. It has slowed but it's still coming out
I was hoping it would stop but it's been happening for a few days now and when they get on your clothes, they smear when you try to wipe them off.
Had to run home today to change my shirt :-(
