I installed some new 15" Borbet Type E's with 195/60-15's on my 1988 244 yesterday and they look really sharp. The mechanic suggested that another improvement would be to lower the front a couple of inches since there seems to be an awful lot of space between the top of the wheel and the wheel well. Not so in the back though. He said he could cut some of the spring down and the cost would be $40 per wheel. Seems reasonable, but can and should it be done? Will it affect the ride and handling of the car? What happens when the car is fully loaded? Why did Volvo design the car so high in the first place and are we wise to play around with their design? Thanks, Fred
