Side Tether for 740 Wagon 700 1988

I was just wondering if anyone has installed a tether strap on a 740 wagon in a position other then the middle. I just called the dealer and the only one available is for the middle but I now have two children and I need a tether on the side for my forward facing seat. I took a quick look at options for installation but I want to make sure that whatever I do is safe. Anyone out there tried this or have any suggestions?
