Hi everyone.
The move to the new house is complete, and finally the phone compnay managed to get someone out here after 5 weeks (With one months notice no less) and at last internet is restored! Now I can brickboard again!
Question is, does anyone who has any b234f powered vehicles notice the car is particularly finnicky about the gas you put in? Mine only likes midgrade or premium. Not to put too fine a point on it, it likes midgrade or premium from the Citgo station on the corner of I-39/90 and Gardner Ave. in South Beloit, Illinois. Any other gas in town, and the car runs like crap. On the citgo it's fine-- runs and idles like a champ. If i put anything else in it, it idles erratically, and even has once or twice cut out at idle.
in the last two months it has had a full tuneup (plugs, Bosch Platinum 4+, Bougicord wires, Bosch cap & rotor, fresh flame trap, new air filter, throttle body cleaning.) The only thing I haven;t yet done that is tuneup related is the fuel filter.
Do I have a picky car and do I need to learn to live with it, or might there be something organically wrong that needs to be corrected?
It's worth mentioning that many of the local gas stations around town have a poor reputation, and I have heard similar problems from other drivers (not just Volvo owners) complaining of problems after filling up at certain gas stations. However, my '93 945 with the b230f w/regina runs fine on almost anything.
Thanks for any ideas...
Fred
