Upper strut nut torque question-center nut 200

Top main strut nut: Bentley says 15 lbs torque. Fifteen pounds won't even turn it until it seats. I don't think fifteen pounds will even push it into the self-locking threads. What do I do, just tighten it until it feels seated? Any danger of overtightening it if I use the special Lisle tool and tighten by hand with a half inch drive ratchet until it feels fairly tight? I don't want to mess up those nice new mount bearings.
