Going to the junk yard for AC parts tomorrow... Have a few questions. 200 1980

Tomorrow I'm heading to the u-pull to get whatever I need to get working AC in my '80 245 DL. It originally came with AC, but the compressor is shot, and the entire system has been inactive for more then 18 years.

I'm wanting to pull the AC off of a later model 240 (one with a Rotary compressor). What year did they introduce those? Any special mounting brackets I'll need?

Is there a way to spot test a compressor? These cars aren't going to have batteries (or keys for that matter, heh) so I can't do the usual "Clack" test.

The power steering stuff needs to come off as well I know, but is it possible for me to reuse my old Power Steering setup on the new compressor? (I wouldn't mind replacing it though, as I think the rack in my '80 leaks a bit...)

I'll have my Bentley with me, but that book doesn't give me much info about the AC system.

What other stuff should I look for to make this whole thing a bit easier? Any certain years I should keep an eye out for? I'm going to convert this thing to R-134 before I install it all, for what it's worth.

Thanks as always.
