Steering column creeks 700 1989

Just bought a new 740 2.3l GLE.

The steering column makes this strange creeking sound when going over bumps, or even when not going over bumps and on a totally flat surface.

I've never heard of this before and was wondering if it's something to be concerned about? The noise is definitely from the steering column and it's definitely not coming from the suspension!
