Wiring Can of Worms almost done - 2 questions left - Expert Help needed 200 1984

To everybody following my posts. I've almost got Yellowbrick done. I cut back the harness into the section where the "Y" is and exposed the remaining wires.
The big section of wires from the passengers side looks like new. The section from the drivers it toast. I've bypassed all but one wire. This is the second red wire that doesn't exist. The first red one goes to the alternator. The second one goes nowhere, just ends at the connector. It probably does nothing.
I NEED TO KNOW WHICH WIRE GOES TO THE ENGINE COOLANT TEMP SENDER. The yellow one goes to the guage in the dash, that's done now and works. Brown and the Yellow/Blue stripe to the starter. I'm recovering these two with shrink tubes back to the "Y" where they are still good. I wiggled the spade connector at the ECT under the intake #3 and the car runs beter now. I would like to just replace this section with a better wire. I can't tell what color it is anymore and the insulation is getting hard and heat baked.
This would be the best time to run a new wire to it while the harness is unwrapped.
P.S.
The harness in my 81 245 was replaced in 2000 with an entirely new harness. A friend pointed out to me the section coming through the firewall from the dash is going bad now. I don't think they make a dash section do they? Parts anyone?
Ben
