Last month I sought advice on trouble-shooting my 940 when the dash warning bulbs failed to light with ignition on but engine not running. Several bricksters reported failed soldering on instrument cluster as the cause of similar problems on their 940s. However, I removed the cluster and tracked continutiy through the entire circuit (12 volts coming in from ignition switch and a ground connection throught the wire connecting to the alternator) with a volt/ohm meter. I cleaned all the bulb and harness connectors with Radio Shack circuit board cleaner and reassembled. Warning lights and charging system working fine for past several weeks - so I'm about to reinstall the cast aluminum trim and get on with my life.
Thanks again to all who replied to my post.
