I want to read the oil pressure on my 1991 745 turbo, and I have read the FAQ's under "lubrication" where there is a picture of where to place the gauge.
However, where do I purchase an oil pressure gauge that I can temporarily attach to that oil gallery hole? What do I ask for, and where do I go to find it? And what specifications do I need to look for (I read the FAQ about the thread size, etc., but it doesn't make sense to me). I just need some help figuring out where to find this tool and how to use it.
Also, what does "3 bar, 4 bar," etc. mean - does it correspond to psi?
I have constructed the engine jig in preparation for replacing my oil pump and oil delivery tube o-rings, but I want to check my hot oil pressure (when the oil light is fully on at idle) before I waste my time on a fairly extensive repair.
Thanks.
