pulling to the right 200

I recently changed the brake pads on our '87 245 with a girling brake system. I followed the instructions in the haynes manual. The car now pulls to the right under braking and it didn't do this before changing the pads. Is the haynes manual missing a step? What might be wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
