Having a problem whereby the car loses power and then 'jolts' back into gear. You could produce a similar effect by rapidly taking your foot off and then back on the gas. This only happens in fourth gear, and only when the overdrive has been engaged for some time and then switched off. Pop it (M46) back into overdrive and it's smooth sailing again. Is the overdrive clutch slipping, or the engine clutch?
