Crank Position sensor test? 200 1991

Can anybody tell me how to test the function of a crank position sensor with a multimeter? It looks pretty difficult to change and if there is some way to determine is is sending a signal then I'd rather not mess with it. If I am not mistaken it has a three-prong plug that plugs into the EZK system. I don't know waht those role each of those prongs play.
