Alternator Interchangability 200 1983

I have an '83 245, and like many items that year, my 70 amp alternator is only shared with the '84 200 and '85 700. Is it possible to swap in a later model 80 amp unit? The extra 10 amps of the later model would be nice, inaddition to actually being able to find one in a yard.

Sorry about the small pics, they're they only ones (is that even a word? Talk about a contradiction in terms) I could find. It looks like they are interchangable, except that one wire on the later style is a little longer than the early, but thats what wire crimpers are for. Aside from that, are there any gotcha's? Thanks for your time.
