Oxigen sensor wires 900

Hi to all: I have a 1994 940 w/B230F engine. I am trying to replace the oxygen sensor with a universal unit. There are three wires with a red, white and black wires in the original. But the replacement unit has two white wires and one black with crimp connectors. Should the white goes w/red? and should I solder the wires or crimp them?
