Smoke from oil trap line... 700 1986

Car is 1986 740 turbo, B230 engine.
The hose going from oil separator line to
turbo is smoking heavily when disconnected.
Is this a sign of engine in need of ring / valve job ?
Has anyone installed custom PVC on this type of engine ?
