Poor performing 940 900 1994

Hello to everyone!

Again I have a vehicle that is giving me grief & I hope someone can lead me in the right direction.

I have a '94 940 with 195k on it, recently purchased. Previous owner said I had about 30k miles before needing to replace the timing belt ... ooops, I didn't; it broke.

I replaced the belt, tuned up with new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and cleaned the throttle body. Car runs smoothly, but has very poor acceleration/power (Now my wife tells me that it runs better, but similar to, what it did BEFORE the timing belt broke).

I looked thru the FAQ's and find nothing exactly like what I am experiencing. I have double checked the timing belt installation and find everything lines up as it should, checked for vaccuum leaks and found none, also pulled the hose from the FPR and had no leaks (plus the idle did rise a little). It doesn't smoke or have any odor of gas like it is flooding. Also no spark knocking ... in case this matters.

What should be my next step be in trying to figure this out? I am very limited in electrical evaluation... so, if it seems I need to follow that line, I'll take it to a REAL mechanic and quit hacking at it by myself! :-)

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions;
randyb
