Now that I think of it I did hear a squeaky noise about a week prior to the timing failure, I took it to my mechanic, he sprayed something from a can on the drive belt and the noise stopped temporarily and then he said the drive belt needs to be changed, but since it was recently changed when I put in a new A/C compressor I decided not to replace it and few days later the noise stopped (we had a few days of very humid weather and may be that was the reason).
