If you see this tjts1, I have a question for you regarding this post:
http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=735654

I'd like to know how your mod is doing 7 months later. Have you experienced any problems or anything unusual because of this? I'm thinking of doing something like this on my 97 960 so I was just trying to learn a little more about how yours was holding up.

For anyone interested, the stock intake faces away from the front of the car, presumably to keep debris and water from entering. If the opening was facing 180 degrees opposite it would be directly in the air stream and would be force fed by the natural air flow from driving. Like tjts1 said in his post, it looks pretty restrictive, so I'd like to open it up a little and help the engine breathe better.

Ideally I would like to have this directly behind the grill to maximize the airflow but doing that would expose the intake system to the elements much more than it is now. It would be easy to make a screen to keep out larger debris and let the stock air filter continue to do it's job, but how much of a problem would water be?

Anything else I may be overlooking? Anybody have any thoughts or comments on this?
Thanks!
