Yesterday the gas station guy really over-filled my tank. One hundred yards from the station, the car started bucking and running really badly. Finally it died. When I went back an hour and a half later, it started and ran normally. Today it ran normally for a couple miles then started bucking, ran a little bit longer and died. I waited about ten minutes and it started. On the way home it did the same routine. It ran perfectly until I got the new gas.
Is this likely to be caused by bad gas or does really overfilling the tank somehow mess up the venting system or charcoal filter? If it's bad gas that's causing the problem, I want to get it out of the tank. Needless to say, I don't want to swallow any gas or blow myself up. What's the best way to get the contaminated gas out of the tank? I'm afraid if it makes the car run this badly, it might damage the fuel pumps or clog the filter or something.
All input would be really appreciated. I need help.
