Hello everyone,
Let me know if anyone has a similar problem &/or solution:
As the outside temperature rises my A/C starts blowing warm air. When I first start the car (even during the noon Sun) the A/C works okay but as I keep driving it progressively gets less cooler and then just the outised air temperature....is all I get!!
I retrieved the A/C diagnostic code, it gave me 161 which stands for the solar sensor (on dashboard) malfunction. Now, I would go and replace it if it was a cheap part but I have heard that that may not cause the problem with the A/C temperature, that it plays all too small a role to be of much significance.... etc. My question is if the solar sensor is defective will it affect the A/C temperature? Will it make the A/C think it's cooler outside when it's actually not? What's the likelyhood of the sensor malfunction? Should I trust the diagnostic system? Anyone here had dealings with the solar sensor? (By teh way I have checkde the freon in the system along with the pressure etc -it's normal)
Any advice/suggestions much appreciated...
Kenny
