A/C malfunction code S90-V90 1997

DEWFPO,

One thing that you said that got my attention was whether if I turn the A/C off for 10 min. and turn it back on, if the A/C would function again. Yes, it does!

My questoin is also Why does the diagnostic system point to the solar sensor (esp. when the other factors may not be affecting it, that is malfunctions of other components have no effect on it)?

In answer to your next question "If you leave the A/C on will the temp eventually get cool again at some point? or once it warms up, it doesn't cool again until you shut it off?" yes to the first one and no to the second one: Although, I did drive about 100 miles the other day and had the following experience: When the car/engine was warm around noon, the A/C had a hard time cooling (this was on our return trip). in desperation I would try to shut off and turn on the A/C and just push buttons.... (sorry the kids and the other half were complaining fervently!!!). We opened the windows (it was close to 90 degrees!! but atleast it was the highway!!). After about 20-25 minutes, still on the highway, the A/C started blowing cold air but more from the front side vents than the front middle ones..... It remained on untill we got home, about an hour/hour and a half later.

More help: when I notice the air getting warmer I also notice the compressor NOT kicking in (as it does periodically when it works normally) so I am beginnig to think this is a problem with the low pressure/high pressure switches?

Keep advicing and thanks a million!!

Kenny
