My ’93 944 $2000 T-Rex (Regina) no history-dented-beater-driver-park-her-anywhere, is going on a 1000 mile trip and I had to make room in the glove compartment. A 1 X 2 (wooden) brake press, 5 minute epoxy, and thin sheet metal patched the clips. The black foam crumbled apart while working on it. The light bulb went on which told me that I had some black 3/8”thick window AC filter material that I used for a computer air filter. Perfect fit and look.

This car has had its share of issues. (No start – broken cam index pin, tranny racket – rear seal carrier screw vibrated out and the last one, stalling out while driving. It had a 2 month old crank sensor and after trying out everything else, another new crank sensor solved the problem. The fine folks at FCPG allowed me to return the old one. The car has been running very well for the last 1500 miles and has built up my confidence, knock on Volvo steel. Not my wife’s though. It may look $2k but it drives $10k. (Do I sound a little nervous?)

The extra room in the glove compartment is for a spare crank sensor, FI relay and a FP relay. Don’t leave home without them. Too bad radiators are so big.
