O2 Sensor 200 1981

Hey,
It's the idle. I just replaced the original fuel filter on the car after 155000. That helped the idle tremendously. However, I cannot get it to idle at the proper speed without bogging down and stalling out. I am wondering if the O2 sensor would have any effect on the idle? My guess would be...that it still has the original O2 sensor. It's not too important that I get an answer...I'll be replacing the 02 sensor anyways. But I am also wondering if the cold start valve would have any effect on the idle? By the way...I have an '81 240 wagon.
