Front end noise after strut install 900 1995

Hi everyone,

I really need some advice on this problem before I tear into it:

With the help of the Brickboard FAQ and postings, I took on my largest repair project to date: new struts, springs, ball joints, and poly strut rod bushings on my 1995 945t. After 13 hrs and 2 stripped rachets, I was pretty proud of myself with the results. That was about 10 days and 600 miles ago- yesterday, my wife reported that a "scary" noise had stared on the passenger side wheel. I took it for a drive and it's making quite a bit of racket when going over bumps- a lound clunk accompanied by some rattling. The noise is not related to turning the car and I can recreate it by pushing the front end up and down- it gets lounder the harder you bounce the car. I can't isolate where the noise is coming from, although it seems like it might be coming from the strut/spring area. I've only had time to take a quick look underneath and everything appears to be connected where it should. Struts were Bilstein TC's (economy), Scantech springs, ball joints were non-oem from FCP Groton, bushings were the blue poly variety. My only guess right now is the tie rod end or bad ball joint.

I would apprecite any ideas on what to look for or how to diagnose the problem before I start taking things apart tonight. I certainly don't want to take it to a shop after having done all that work myself!

As always, thanks for all your help.

John
