Hi y'all,
I have a 1993 Volvo 245. The kickdown cable croaked and the consequences are, at the very least, a major nuissance. I checked the throttle spindle -- the kickdown cable is all slack and completely frozen. I dumped a can of PB Blaster in it and it still won't budge! My tranny is "thunking" into gear at higher RPM's. It keeps dropping out of OD if I don't keep it above 70 MPH. Tranny fluid levels are fine. It's definitely kickdown cable related.
My question is whether or not there's a relatively easy way to release the kickdown lever in the tranny and just shift manually until I have time to install a new cable. Any suggestions are welcome!!
Thanks,
CPJ
