What's the best way to keep new tail lites healthy?,( i.e., no water into lens box) 200

I just got a nice pair and I want to keep the bulb from blowing the next time it rains. Should I do nothing, simply install? Should I try and seal the top lip cavity with goop? Should I drill tiny weep holes around the bottom of the lens box with a vent hole near the top? Bring your best ideas and opinions. (of course it's too late for me to go buy another brand so hold that thought). Thanks,
Cabbie2169
