Intermittent but more and more often poor acceleration...??? 200 1992

Hi.

Recently purchased 1992 240 gl. A few weeks ago, I noticed poor acceleration on my drive home. Did'nt happen for another week but seem's to do it more and more often.

As I have done nothing yet to figure out the problem, any suggestions as to where and what to look as a cause or if you might have went through this yourself, any advice is more than welcome.
