`89 745 turbo No start issue 700

Here's my problema... 2 days ago I was running some errands and stopped at a store for 10 min and then came out to my ride and she wouldn't start.
I tried the AMM trick and disconnected it and still no start.
then checked all the fuses and the fuel pump relay clicked when i tried to turn it over.
My main fuel pump has been getting increasingly louder over the last few months.
I had the check valve replaced about 2 months ago.
So now when I turned the key over past the acc setting I didn't hear the regular "whine" of the pump. But when trying to start it and when i'd let the key go I could hear a whine.
When the car was rolled off the flatbed I tried to start her and she did as if nothing had happened but after like 2 min she stuttered and then died.
Later I did a look over in the engine bay and noticed that on the bottom of my distributor the connector aka the hall sensor was hanging from its wires but it was still connected although very dirty.
I didn't have time to check if I had a spark or not but I plan on it being the first thing i'll check next.
What is a good way to check if it is a fuel issue? I know the main pump was getting power bc my tester indicated so.
I purchased my wagon with 147,xxx miles she now rests at 194,342.
This is the first time she hasn't started and I have almost no idea what might be the problem thus making me kinda nervous since I def love this car too much.

thanks in advance!

Mark
