lights on dash glow on and off while driving 700 1989

The same dash lights that come on when you turn the key to "on" are starting to glow slowly on then off every few minutes while I drive. So far it does not effect anything. Anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this. It just started after the car was parked for 12 days. thanks 740 GL with 233k
