What do you need to install a new camshaft? 140-160

I'm not saying that i'm going to quite yet, but i'd like to get a list of what is required so i can get it cheaper than $468 at ipd. Or something of the sort. At AllOEM it lists the cam for the 73 b20 to be $83.38 and the camshaft bearing set is 20.32. The bearings are Scan-Tech, of which i've heard negatives about in the 200 section before, although usually pertaining to lights i think, what do you guys think about using Scan-Tech camshaft bearings? And what lifters should i use? Where to get them? Cheap but good of course. Do I need anything else when getting a new camshaft? Should i also replace the timing gear at the same time, or can i get away without it?
