When I put the new ebrake pads on I couldn't get the new rotors on so I got the old grinder out and modified them a little. There was no adjuster star on them. Just that two piece mechanism on the bottom at the end of the cable and the forked bar at the top. I loosened the cables as much as I could and I could see that there was no more space for the pads to fit. It certainly seemed like they had to be modified. I deepened the spaces where they go up against the bar and mechanism. Finally got the rotors on and adjusted the cables back up.
Also changed all the calipers and bads.
So now, of course, the emergency brake doesn't work at all. I assume the pads are not reaching the inside of the rotor because of my mods.
What gives? Why wouldn't the rotors go back on (before the mods) when the pads were on and there was no more space for them?
Has anyone ever had this problem?
