fuel distributor stuck? 200

I think I have found the problem with my 78 GT which acts like it's flooding. My air flow sensor plate has NO resistance with the system pressured up. Injectors put out lots of fuel. I have changed the cpr and it made no difference ( starts after I pull the fuel injector relay after a few cranks and then dies--running out of gas and wont start again until I plug the relay back in , crank and then remove the relay again and starts again after several cranks, only to die once more, ad nauseum). I'm pretty sure the plunger in the fuel distributor is stuck in full flow mode. My questions are: Is there a way to loosen up the plunger short of pulling the distributor off? If I do have to pull the distributor, would I be better off removing the intake manifold to do this? If I do that is it necessary to put on a new manifold gasket? What's this someone said on here about K jet cpr s being "matched" to the fuel distributor and not to just replace one of them? I know this is a lot, but I would really appreciate any help.
