another 122 horn question 120-130

Cut the mousepad for the horn insulator (Thanks Guys!) and am checking all pertinent things for re-assembly and noticed that the horn contact has a wire that runs thru the steering column. It doesn't SEEM to be connected to anything as I can pull the spring loaded contact (with long length of wire attached) out of the column. Is there a connector that is missing or is is just a contact inside the column that the wire rests against.

Seems kinda sketcky so didn't want to re-assembly without the experts' advise.

Thanks in advance for all the expert advice for the newbie.
