coolant temp sensor 200

I'm still trying to figure out why my '93 245 is stalling. One thing I haven't checked is the coolant temp sensor, mostly because it looks like a real pain to get to. Does anyone know the socket size for removing it as I can barely even see the sensor let alone figure out what size socket I need.
Also I really don't want to have to remove the intake manifold to get to it so if anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it.
