coolant temp sensor 200

BH,

I recently replaced the ECT sensor on my 87 745T. I bought a new intake gasket and left everything connected on the intake except a vacuum line or two and the intake hose. I removed the nuts from the intake studs, slid the manifold back off the studs, swapped in the new sensor, removed the old gasket, installed the new, slid the manifold back in place, replaced and tighten the nuts, reconnected the vucuum lines/intakehose and I was done. From start to finish it took me 25 mins. I could have spend all afternnon trying to get that #@$% sensor out and the new in with the intake manifold in place. If you have to replace the ECT sensor, I'd say it's much easier to order up a new intake gasket with the sensor and remove the manifold. It's really not as much of a PITA as it would appear. My.$02
