And once more I turn to the wisdom of The Board for help.
I've noticed that the handbrake of my '92 240 (Diesel) needs to be pulled up as high as possible to firmly engage on a steep hill.
E.g. i need to pull it up to about 8 notches.
I've used the board to figure out how to adjust it (by means of the 17 mm bolt at the back of the lever). Now its tightened up a bit. But it still needs to be pulled up to the highest notch (now being 6) to take effect. If I leave it only at 5 notches the car will roll (when on a steep hill) for about half a meter before the brake tightens itself.
Does this mean that my brake pads are due for replacement or is this normal for the 240?
Have I overlooked something?
TIA,
