My wagon also falls into the "diesel lite" category with it's knocking.

At one point I was concerned with rod knock but after disconnecting injectors one by one it didn't make any difference.

Recently heard another late 80's 745 leave the grocery parking lot. It wasn't a knock, it was more of a WHACK WHACK WHACK when it drove off. I don't even know how he could stand to drive it. Made my car sound mighty quiet in comparison.
