Front suspension swap 140 to 122 120-130

Hi All,

As you may or may not know I am embarking on a modded 122 project. Using a nissan SR20DET dohc 2litre turbo 4cyl motor. But back to my question.

Is it possible to fit 140 front suspension to a 122 using the 122's original steering box and idler arm (refered to as the 'relay' arm in the haynes manuals) [as these look to be the only items that are fairly different between the setups]?

Ok I can already hear everyone saying wtf would you do that for, well here are my reasons whether they be valid or not....
- I can obtain (for next to nothing) the complete front suspension from a '69 142 that has just been re-built including the brakes.
- I am fitting a 142 dana 30 rear so that I can actually get an lsd for the rear, and also to avoid the potentially weak 120's series axles (I have done this by getting a pro shop to attach 122 suspension onto the 142 diff), so if I can also fit 142 front suspension I have a complete 142 braking system so that the 142's master cylinder will match it perfectly, also the track front and rear will be just as volvo meant it to be for the 142

Am i making sense here or have i gone off on another crazy tangent of mine?

Questions, comments and answers much appreciated!

Daz
