Thoughts and opinions on lighting wanted... 200 1980

Now that I've got my '80 245 running once again, I've got another project I want to tackle.

I'm interested in upgrading the lighting, perhaps using Cibies from IPD (or wherever on line), or possibly some other brand of after market lighting.

Currently, I have the single 7" rounders on the car, but I'm planning on switching them back to the quad rounds, unless there is some significant advantage to the 7 inchers.

Current set up:

What I'll probably put back on.

Anyhow, going through the archives, I've read about the Cibies, the Hellas, and the PIAAs. There are different opinions between the Hellas and Cibies, but it seems the general consensus is that the PIAAs are not worth the money they cost.

I do a lot of night time driving, and I want to have the best possible light out put I can. If that means sticking with the 7" lights, I'll do that.

I know I can get the 5" Cibies from Ipd if and when I return the quad rounds, and I'm wondering if I should also buy the Cibie high beam only lights. How much of a difference would they make when I turn the brights on?

I'm interested in opinions on the Hellas as well.

And finally... Does anyone know of any places that would sell these lights cheaper then Ipd?

I'll be adding relays for the beefed up wiring for sure. That won't present a problem for me.

Thanks as always.
