Turns out the starter ( "Stopped by a starter" ) was fine. The replacement starter did the same thing, ran but did not turn the engine over. I incorrectly assumed (I know ASS-out of U and ME) that the starter was not engaging the flywheel. Only to learn how to test the starter later. Well I now own an extra Starter.
Anyone need one?
Just e-mail me ....
So the flywheel. I have no garage and only a small paved area. I'm thinking of carrying a wrachet and large socket to rotate the crank whenever the starter finds the bad teeth.... until warm weather hits again then pull the engine and do all sorts of goodies......
My wife thinks we should park it until spring ...While underneath working on the starter I saw a gash of cancer on the floorboard about where the back end of the driver's seat is... I mean it was 10" long and the only thing that appears to be holding it together is the massive undercoating that the car has. The undercoating seems like it was original.

Park? or drive? the poll is open!
