87 245 B230 - wife stalled car in carwash, - where is fuel pump relay?? 200 1987

87 245 B230 CDN model - manual 5 spd

This 245 was stalling/sputtering occasionally over the past several months. I thought it may have been bad gasoline........

With your information recently, I took a look at some areas that required maintenance.

Yesterday, I removed and cleaned the throttle body, checked for vac leaks, and removed and cleaned the IAC valve.

Both were very dirty.

I thought the problem may have been solved - car ran smmooth - but then again it does most of the time.

This morning, my wife took the car through a brushless car wash - and did the undercarriage spray option. then she called me from inside the car wash - car would not start and she missed the "dryer" cycle.

She had tried to start the engine at least 6 times. no firing.....

After I calmed her down, I had her call the attendants, and they pushed her car out of the carwash.

She let it sit for about 10 minutes out in the wind (about +40f) then called - it started. At first it was "bucking like an old tractor" (her words) - then smoothed out. And runs normal as of this writing (she is still in town)...

To her credit - the fearless gal still had some shopping to do - rather than scurry right home.... :)

However - I do not know where the fuel pump relay is located, nor what it looks like. - there are several relays tucked up under the dash......

Last postings - someone suggested the fuel pump relay may need re-soldering.

Where is the fuel pump relay located, and what does it look like.

Thanks in advance..
