Won't come out of park 200 1991

I bought my daughter a car this summer and it has run great. We went out last weekend and when we came home she parked it, we cannot get it out of park now. We were checking the fuses but this seems more like a lock mechanism of some kind. Any ideas? I'd hate to have it towed to have it worked on. Thanks.
