help. I installed a tach in my '82 244 GL last night, as well as a small clock. They both worked fine. Today I installed a voltmeter and it went bezerk. It read as past 16 volts and was faulty, I tested it against another one in a truck and it went crazy again. This is my wiring for the voltmeter: I had hooked up the white wire to fuse #16 (interior lights) and the blue/red wire to fuse #1. I grounded it properly too. Since it wasn't working properly, I took it out and that's when the problems began. I just went out to my car about 5 minutes ago because the small clock light wasn't working (it did work last night and this morning and when I looked at it after I took the voltmeter out, the bulb had blown)and I found that not only did my clock not work at all, my dome light, trunk light, glove box light and power locks were also dead. The power locks worked when I unlocked the car to get in and when I got out, they didn't. It is not a fuse, I checked all of them. My dash works, (except for the small clock) the power windows work, the lights in the emergency brake cover work, the lights over the heater/air conditioner controls work and all of the exterior lights are okay. My radio does not work, but that doesn't matter because it has never worked for me. I have no idea what this problem could be, I don't see anything wrong with the wiring, it is all connected and there are no sparks from anything. Now I have a migraine and am very very very frustrated with my car.
If you can help at all, please do.
Thanks,
Joe
