Here's a post from April of this year about this problem:
Previous post
I was driving down the highway tonight and it's not a relaxing time. I constantly have to keep readjusting the steering to keep on the road.
On perfectly flat road I have no problems; IE it's not a wander. But if there's grooves in the road from heavy traffic, it sends my car back and forth across the lane. Bleedin' awful.
Nothing feels "loose" in the front end.
To summarize:
- radius rod/balljoints new
- front end aligned
- tires same (205/60R/15) and equal pressure
- Mechanic checked out suspension and says all is fine.
The ONLY thing I know needs doing is struts but this is not reacting as worn struts.
I don't know what to do about this and am considering taking it in (gasp) to a different mechanic in Vancouver.
Any insight as to what's causing this problem? I'm glad I don't drive it that much on the highway.
