header paint failure 120-130

Did everything according to the directions of the POR 15 exhaust paint when painting the header...sanded, DX 330, sprayed, etc. and after 30 miles the paint started to crack and flake off.
Anyone else have this problem or have any advice...not that I'm going to take it all apart again any time soon.
